Languages

VeriClaim scans product copy in ten EU languages: German, English, French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Polish, Dutch, Danish, and Swedish. Your administrator chooses which languages are available on the scan page.

Coverage per language

  • German & English — deepest coverage: hand-tuned legal classification prompts, a curated keyword blocklist built from court rulings and EFSA rejections, and the official authorized-claims list for exact-wording checks.
  • All other languages — full AI classification with professionally localized legal prompts (the EU regulations are identical in every member state), including native example claims so local marketing phrasing is recognized. Keyword-layer depth for these languages is expanding.

How the engine handles language

You select the text's language when scanning (or set a default under Settings). The engine then runs the matching per-language legal prompts, routes food vs. cosmetic law using multilingual product-type detection, and — where available — the language's keyword blocklist and authorized-claims whitelist.

One legal framework, many languages

The prohibitions themselves are EU-wide: Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006 applies in every member state, and the (EU) 432/2012 positive list is published in all official languages. German court rulings (e.g. on "Detox") are cited as persuasive precedent — the underlying rules they interpret bind everywhere in the EU.
